Ever wish you could get some hands on help from the IMPLAN experts with to frame your projects or ensure you are entering survey or budget data into the software correctly? Do you have questions creating new sector or properly customizing an IMPLAN model to meet your studies needs? Need help navigating the SAM? Are you sure that your assumptions and results are economically sound and properly interpreted and documented? Want another set of eyes on your project to make sure it can pass peer review?
If you answered yes to any of these, our new project based workshop is designed to meet your needs. The staff at MIG, Inc., will provide you with these answers during our March 8th and 9th ‘Open Topic Workshop’, a two-day seminar for users who are already familiar with IMPLAN but need help moving forward with their projects or would like specific assistance in improving and expanding their analyses and analytical understanding of IMPLAN.
The Open Topic Workshop seminar differs from the Introduction to IMPLAN, and Advanced IMPLAN workshops in that it is designed for those who are looking for assistance with questions regarding their unique study, and who already have a basic familiarity with the IMPLAN system. No formal lesson plan will be presented, because the seminar will focus on one-on-one time with the instructors working though projects in class using real world examples. The workshop with be a full two-days (8:30-4:30pm CST). Attendees are asked to submit information about their project or questions beforehand, and submit information on other ideas they would like to see addressed during the workshop in order for our instructors to be properly prepared to assist students in timely and organized fashion. Students are also highly encouraged to bring all their project related materials to the course so that they can have a completed study or near completed study by the time they leave.
If you have information on your project on your IMPLAN appliance, you are more than welcome to bring it along, but please note, our new training facilities provide computers loaded with the IMPLAN Version 3.0 software to work on during your classroom experience.

After twenty years of exercising our single user license agreement, and after conducting a survey of our client’s preferences and usage of the software, we at MIG, Inc. have decided that this licensing system is no longer reflective of our customers’ needs and usage of the data. In response to that, with the release of the 2010 data set, we have decided to roll over to a new licensing scheme.
The new IMPLAN licensing that begins with the 2010 data release will permit the installation of a single appliance and its associated data sets onto up to 5 systems. This could accommodate 5 individual users, or could be used by two users for home and work installation (4 installs) and a third user for a single (home or work) installation. This change of licensing is, therefore, reflected in the new 2010 data costs. For those users who have already purchased the 2010 data set, or for those who need to have the quotes at the previous pricing still honored, we will continue to do so, but please note that all of these purchases will still be held to the previous single user license policy that their associated pricing represents. If you would prefer to upgrade to the new 5 user license, please contact an MIG representative at 651.439.4421 ext. 1.
While the appliance and its associated data sets will now be open to 5 installations/users, all licensed data sets will still be restricted to the drive to which they are downloaded. For user’s who have purchased multiple drives, or multiple user licenses in the past, if you want to maintain the data sets on two or more hard drives, or if you cannot reasonably share the appliance, you will still need to order additional user licenses of the data set of your choice.
We appreciate your business and your feedback.
Thank you.
